A Small adventure in the Atlantic

Desert Islands  form a small archipelago of three islands to the southeast of Madeira, called “Ilhéu Chão”, “Deserta Grande” and “Bugio”, known to be an important habitat for some species of fauna and flora, some of them endemic to these islands. The Nature Reserve contitutes an important wildlife habitat, and one of the last strongholds for the Mediterranean monk seal, known as “Lobo- Marinho”, with only 25 individuals in Desert Islands, from a world-wide population of 500 individuals.
